Challenge
Seattle City Lights largest, most profitable and most complex customers, 150 industrial and commercial customers, are excluded from the CIS installed in 2002. These customers are processed through an in-house developed billing system which has been modified and rebuilt many times. The system continues to produce billing errors and this vital customer information is not readily available to the rest of the utility.

Solution
TMG assessed the current system, the operating environment and the City’s requirements to produce an Application Plan containing a prioritized list of alternatives which included costs, benefits and risks associated with each.

Results
The City utilized the Application Plan in preparation of its capital and operational budget plans.
