Challenge
SaskEnergy’s Customer Service & Information System
(CSIS) was a COBOL system originally developed and marketed by TRES
Systems during the 1970’s. The system was implemented in 1986
and has been customized significantly in-house to accommodate new
business requirements, improve business processes and make the system
more user-friendly. SaskEnergy is planning for the replacement or
enhancement of the CIS for the Distribution Utility.
Solution
TMG provided the following Application Planning work 1) evaluation
of the technology and business functionality of the current CIS,
2) overview of the features and capabilities of new customer information
systems, 3) identification of the gaps between where they are now
and where we want to be and 4) development of a replacement strategy
that fits SaskEnergy’s customer service strategy.
