CIS Challenge
The City of San Jose wanted to replace a legacy billing system.
Solution
After developing and distributing a request for proposal for a CIS
solution, the City asked TMG to assist with the remainder
of the selection process. TMG’s experience in the municipal
marketplace and its reputation as a valuable independent firm were
deciding factors for the City.
Result
The selection team determined PeopleSoft as the finalist and moved
forward with solution confirmation, scoping, and installation planning
work.
VoIP Challenge
Replacement of a legacy Centrex telephone system for existing
facilities and the provisioning of all network and telecomm requirements
for a new City Hall facility. Initial deployment to include
2,200 desktops (phone and network) for the new City Hall. Subsequent,
deployment to include an additional 3,000 users distributed across
multiple facilities.
Solution
After developing and distributing a RFP for a converged network
solution, TMG was asked to assist with the remainder of the
vendor evaluation and selection process. The City had pre-selected
Cisco as the technology foundation for the solution and subsequently
distributed a RFP based on this technology.
Result
The City selected a solution as proposed by Unisys Corporation. TMG
resources provided expertise in the development of the contract
for both goods and services through Unisys and developed the
scope of services to be provided by the vendor.
