National Grid

Challenge
National Grid was running two CIS systems to process its 3.2 million customers and needed to consolidate two customer bases into a single CIS solution. Their CSS solutions was Customer/1 system (CSS solution) operated and supported Niagara Mohawk’s 1.5 million electric customers and 550,000 gas customers. Their CIS solution was a legacy customer system operating and supporting New England’s 1.7 million customers.

Solution
TMG was engaged to assist in the development of an application plan and to conduct a product evaluation and selection effort.

Result
The utility decided to consolidate their customer base onto the CSS Customer/1 application. They engaged the services of IBM as the solution integrator.
