Missouri Gas Energy
Challenge
The company wanted to consolidate newly-acquired Missouri
Gas Energy into the same business and technology environment as
other Southern Union Company subsidiaries. In addition, they wanted
the ability to implement new systems while at the same time actively
acquiring other companies.
Solution
TMG completed an IT Strategic Plan for Southern
Union Company. Subsequently TMG assisted Southern Union
in the evaluation and selection of a new CIS and new ERP or AFS
systems. During this process Southern Union acquired Missouri Gas
Energy. The decision was made to retain the CIS that MGE was running
(Andersen Customer/1) and to convert Southern Union Gas customers
to Customer/1. From the financial systems perspective, Southern
Union had just implemented the financial systems from Software 2000
and decided to convert MGE from the mainframe based Walker systems
to the midrange based Software 2000 applications. TMG participated in the planning, evaluation, selection, and installation
of these systems across the various companies.
Result
The project was successfully completed in 1995.
