Lee County Electric Cooperative
Challenge
LCEC had an existing CIS solution which was selected and implemented
in a fast track manner in 1999. LCEC was dissatisfied with the performance
and functionality of the system.
Solution
TMG was engaged by LCEC to evaluate their existing CIS. As part
of the Business Case development, TMG conducted an Industry Perspective,
gathered business, technical, and system information through interviews,
surveys and walkthroughs as well as conducting Executive/Senior
Manager Vision and Strategy Workshops. TMG introduced alternatives
in a Working Session and conducted an extensive workshop to review
and modify the TMG templates to reflect LCEC specific requirements.
TMG presented the results of 12 alternatives and the cost/value
analysis to the LCEC executive team, which assisted the project
team in obtaining approval to proceed with procurement of a new
CIS.
As part of the Evaluation and Selection phase, TMG developed a
design blueprint, developed and issued an RFP, received and evaluated
vendor proposals, and conducted vendor demonstrations.
Result
In March of 2004, LCEC started the implementation of CorDaptix CIS
System from SPL WorldGroup, plus the DOC1 Bill Print, and Troy Check
writing solution. TMG was also engaged to perform Quality Assurance
oversight during the implementation effort. The system went live
on-time and on-budget ($7M) in April 2006.
