Water & Power (LADWP)
Challenge
The city needed to replace a more than 30-year-old legacy
billing system. The large customer base, three labor unions, a civil
service structure, and extensive political pressures contributed
to the complexities of the installation effort.
Solution
LADWP selected the STS CIS-OPENVision product several years
ago and completed a small pilot of 5,000 customers running in the
Owens Valley. TMG reviewed LADWP’s plans to rollout
the system to its 1.6 million customers. The result of this effort
was delivery of an Installation Blueprint which detailed the installation
plans, identified areas of risk, and proposed how LADWP could mitigate
the risks to achieve a successful installation.
Result
TMG supported efforts to develop business requirements
for front-office and back-office customer operations. This effort
lead into the procurement and installation of a new customer system.
