Challenge
The city wanted to replace its aging utility billing system. Operation
of the system would move from the IT department to the water utility.
Solutions
TMG was engaged by the City, and the project team initiated
a product evaluation and selection effort.
Results
TMG personnel provided project management assistance
during the 18-month installation effort resulting in an installation
in April 1995. TMG continued to support the City in post-installation
activities. This installation was one of the first of a non-mainframe
based product solution at a large utility. Due to the political
climate the Water Department built and operated its own data center
for the new CIS with ongoing product releases provided by the vendor.
