Challenge
East Bay MUD was operating on a 20 year old in-house developed legacy
billing application. The utility wanted a CIS business case to evaluate
their current business needs and the gap between their current billing
application and the functionality required going forward. The study
focused on technology, functionality and the different alternatives
in the market. The report also provided cost and resources requirements
for each potential option.
Solutions
The organization contracted with TMG for a two-phase project: developing
the business case and assisting in the selection process. TMG provided
a business case that recommended a product solution to be managed
by the District. TMG provided internal, external and on-going cost
projections for the recommended product solution. TMG also provide
a resource plan necessary to implement and support the recommended
solution.
Results
The business case was approved and Phase 2 of this project begun
in mid-2005.
